Baseball Game Preview: Manti Templars vs. Emery Spartans

The Manti Templars are taking a road trip to square off against the Emery Spartans at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Manti has given up an average of 7.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Manti is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Canyon View just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against the Falcons, falling 17-7.

Mason Cherry was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. Boston Hatch was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Emery). They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over Judge Memorial Catholic on Wednesday. The Spartans not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 3, 2024.

Emery let Tyce Larsen and Beau Stilson run wild. Larsen scored a run while going 4-for-4, while Stilson scored two runs while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Larsen a new career-high in doubles (two).

Emery always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Manti now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Emery, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-10.
