Baseball Recap: Lincoln Lutheran Gets the Win

While Lincoln Lutheran's victory against Arlington wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors won by a run and slipped past the Eagles 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted since April 7th.

Lincoln Lutheran saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dawson Guerber, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. Guerber has become a key player for the Warriors: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 5-8 otherwise. Another was Colten Portsche, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Lincoln Lutheran was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arlington only posted a batting average of .222.

The victory got Lincoln Lutheran back to even at 8-8. As for Arlington, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.

Coming up, Lincoln Lutheran will welcome Fairbury at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Jeffs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.35 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Arlington, they will face off against Platteview at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
