Baseball Game Preview: River Valley Falcons vs. Roseville Tigers

For the second straight game, River Valley will face off against Roseville. River Valley will take on Roseville at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. River Valley hasn't scored more than two runs for six games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

River Valley managed to slip by Roseville the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. River Valley came up short against Roseville on Monday, falling 6-0. The match marked the first time this year in which the Falcons were not able to get on the board.

For Roseville's part, Tyler Ritter tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Ritter also tossed a walk, which is notable because Roseville is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 4-6 otherwise.

At the plate, John Vicente lll was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Austin Chang was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

Roseville's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-7. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for River Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
