Basketball Recap: Washington School for the Deaf Comes Up Short

After flying high against Oregon School for the Deaf last Wednesday, Washington School for the Deaf came back down to earth. The Washington School for the Deaf Terriers lost 48-23 to the Three Rivers Christian Eagles on Thursday. The Terriers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Washington School for the Deaf lost, don't look at La'Juan Malone. Despite the final result, he posted eight points along with five boards and four steals. Malone has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played.

Washington School for the Deaf has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Three Rivers Christian, their win ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-4.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Oakville the next time they take the court. Washington School for the Deaf will head out to face Oakville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while Three Rivers Christian will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
