Football Recap: Carbondale Area Comes Up Short

After soaring to 40 points the game before, Carbondale Area was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They had to suffer through a 35-7 loss at the hands of the Lackawanna Trail Lions. The matchup marked the Chargers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Isaac Ryon had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 223 yards and a pair of scores on only 15 carries, while also catching one TD for Lackawanna Trail. Ryon is also on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tyler Jervis, who rushed for 41 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Carbondale Area's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-3. As for Lackawanna Trail, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Carbondale Area wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 55-7 loss against Riverside on the 10th. As for Lackawanna Trail, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-14 victory against Susquehanna on the 11th.
