Recap: Manchester Memorial Crusaders vs. Derryfield Cougars
The Manchester Memorial Crusaders were the 53-52 winner over the Derryfield Cougars when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Manchester Memorial took a 41-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Derryfield on Friday.
Despite the loss, Manchester Memorial still got an impressive performance from NyAsia McKelvey, who scored nine points along with 15 rebounds. Those 15 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Payton Moran was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Manchester Memorial now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Derryfield, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Manchester Memorial is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Trinity at 6:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Trinity is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Derryfield, they will head out on the road to face off against Milford at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Milford's defense has only allowed 24.8 points per game this season, so Derryfield's offense will have their work cut out for Derryfield.
