Soccer Recap: J.P. McCaskey Takes a Loss

If J.P. McCaskey was feeling good fresh off their 4-1 takedown of Ephrata last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Red Tornado fell 4-2 to the Hempfield Black Knights on Saturday. While losing is never fun, J.P. McCaskey can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 234th, while Hempfield are ranked 83rd).

J.P. McCaskey now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Hempfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

J.P. McCaskey will be playing in front of their home fans against Cedar Crest at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Cedar Crest's last four matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Hempfield has already played their next contest (against Governor Mifflin), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
