Baseball Recap: Aldine Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Aldine had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Cleveland on Saturday. The Aldine Mustangs put the hurt on the Cleveland Indians with a sharp 7-0 victory. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by six runs or more this season.

Jansyel Barbosa made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That one hit allowed gave him a new career-low. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That run was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isaiah Nunez, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Orlando Reyes was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

The win (which was Aldine's fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Cleveland, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.

Aldine wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 12-2 victory against Dekaney on the 11th. As for Cleveland, they have also already played their next contest, a 10-3 loss against Grand Oaks on the 11th.
