Basketball Recap: Cedar Comes Up Short

Cedar fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Layton Christian Academy on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 55-52. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Reds have suffered since January 23rd.

Ava Smith had an outrageously good game for Layton Christian Academy as she dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds. Smith's afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. Sarah Ledio was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Cedar's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Layton Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Cedar will host Canyon View at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Layton Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Orem at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
