Baseball Recap: Florence Takes a Loss

Florence dropped down to 3-2-2 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 10-3 to the Pisgah Dragons. Eagles fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Dragons since Thursday.

Austin Pickett made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

As for Pisgah, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-1-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games.

On Pisgah's side, Jackson Carlisle was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Beckham Sturdivant, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Florence will head out on the road to take on Mendenhall at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pisgah, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Richland at 4:00 p.m.
