Football Recap: Foothill Starts Season with Victory at Home

Foothill gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They secured a 12-6 W over the Fountain Valley Barons.

Foothill's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Charley McHale, who rushed for 54 yards and one touchdown. Those 54 rushing yards gave McHale a new career-high.

Foothill didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Hailee Flower, Julienn Chaverst, and Harleigh Chavez picked up one apiece. Maleah Paige was another major factor on D, picking up three sacks and making eight total tackles.

Foothill didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-0 defeat against El Toro on the 14th. As for Fountain Valley, they have also already played their next match, a 15-12 victory against La Quinta on the 12th.
