Baseball Recap: Taft Takes a Loss

Taft fell victim to South San Antonio and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 6-0 to the South San Antonio Bobcats. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Raiders were not able to get on the board.

Taft saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was ELIJAH BARRERA, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for Taft and nudges their season record down to 6-7. As for South San Antonio, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Taft will square off against Johnson at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Johnson's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Taft's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for South San Antonio, they will take on MacArthur at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (MacArthur 3.7, South San Antonio 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
