Football Game Preview: Aledo Bearcats vs. Denton Broncos + How To Watch

The Aledo Bearcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Denton Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Aledo is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Aledo is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past Azle to the tune of 73-0 on Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Bearcats' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Hornets are ranked 467th).

Lincoln Tubbs had a dynamite game, throwing for 293 yards and five TDs while picking up 10.9 yards per attempt. Those 293 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaden Winkfield, who rushed for 79 yards and three scores on only eight carries.

Aledo was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 341 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Denton gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They blew past Granbury 43-19.

Aledo better focus on containing Terrance Lopez and Dmontrez Trez Rogers as the pair were huge in Denton's win. Lopez threw for 291 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes, while Trez Rogers gained 168 total yards. Denton is 3-1 when Lopez posts 250 or more passing yards, but 1-4 otherwise.

Denton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Dre Williamson.

Aledo's record is now 9-0. As for Denton, their record now sits at 4-5.

Everything came up roses for Aledo against Denton when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 62-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bearcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
