Baseball Recap: Kaplan Comes Up Short

Kaplan has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging four runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They came up short against the Covenant Christian Academy Lions, falling 10-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Pirates were not able to get on the board.

With the defeat, Kaplan broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Covenant Christian Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kaplan will take on Kinder at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Kinder will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Kaplan surely won't give up without a fight. As for Covenant Christian Academy, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Covenant Christian Academy Lions face off against E.D. White Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last five games E.D. White has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
