Basketball Recap: Hancock Takes a Loss

Hancock lost against Turkeyfoot Valley Area back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Hancock Panthers took a blow against the Turkeyfoot Valley Area Rams, falling 97-45. The game marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jacob Anderson, who posted 12 points and six rebounds. That's the most boards Anderson has posted since back in December of 2023. Hunter Kerns was another key player, putting up 13 points.

It was another big night for Bryce Nicholson, who shot 7-for-9 from long range and almost dropped a double-double on 34 points and nine steals for Turkeyfoot Valley Area. Nicholson is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least four every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bronson Perez, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 19 points and four steals.

Hancock now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Turkeyfoot Valley Area, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.

Hancock wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 61-53 defeat against Blacklick Valley on the 28th. As for Turkeyfoot Valley Area, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 97-64 win against Paw Paw on the 28th.
