Football Game Preview: Livingston Wolves vs. Central Valley Hawks + How To Watch

The Livingston Wolves are taking a road trip to challenge the Central Valley Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Livingston is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 31 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Grace Davis on Friday. They took a 24-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans.

Livingston's defeat came about despite a quality game from Roberto Rivera, who rushed for 93 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries.

Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for Central Valley, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They blew past Beyer 41-21 on Friday. The Hawks' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Central Valley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 29.3 points over those games. As for Livingston, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-4.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Livingston has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 173.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Central Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 179.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Everything came up roses for Livingston against Central Valley when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 42-10 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
