Basketball Game Preview: Lincoln Northwest Falcons vs. Crete Cardinals

Having just played yesterday, the Lincoln Northwest Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Crete Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln Northwest is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Lincoln Northwest is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Lincoln Christian on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Lincoln Northwest lost 69-49 to Lincoln Christian.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Jaymi White-Soto, who posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Myles Parker, who scored 11 points and five boards.

Meanwhile, Crete slipped by Aurora 44-43 on Thursday. The 44-point effort marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Crete's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points over those games. As for Lincoln Northwest, their loss dropped their record down to 3-15.

Lincoln Northwest was taken down by Crete 72-21 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Lincoln Northwest avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
