Football Recap: Elmira/Southside Takes a Loss

Elmira/Southside lost against Horseheads back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Express fell 19-14 to the Blue Raiders. While losing is never fun, the Express can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 174th, while the Blue Raiders are ranked 43rd).

This is the second loss in a row for Elmira/Southside and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Horseheads, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Looking ahead, Elmira/Southside will host Vestal at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Horseheads, they will head out to take on Union-Endicott at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
