Softball Game Preview: Bret Harte Bullfrogs vs. Calaveras Red Hawks

Bret Harte is 0-10 against Calaveras since April of 2022 but things could change on Thursday. The Bullfrogs will head out on the road to square off against the Red Hawks at 4:00 p.m.

Bret Harte fell victim to Calaveras and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Red Hawks, falling 8-0.

For Calaveras' part, Kamryn Thornburg made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. Thornburg has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Emma Clark was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Carlee Jasper, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Bret Harte's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Calaveras, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season.
