Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Christ Prep Academy). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Kansas City East Christian Academy Lions a 22-0 shutout on Thursday. Considering the Patriots have won 11 matchups by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

On the hitting side, Cade Elder was a standout: he got on base in four of his six plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had over his last nine contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Hink, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.

Christ Prep Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .596. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kansas City East Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .000.

The victory was the seventh in a row for Christ Prep Academy, bringing their record up to 15-11. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Kansas City East Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Christ Prep Academy will square off against Shawnee Mission West at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
