Softball Recap: Nash Central's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Nash Central's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past the Bertie Falcons 18-3. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won eight matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

GRACYN KING was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. KING was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on LAYLA LAFFERTY, who went 1-for-2 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. KAYLEIGH ROANE also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Nash Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .759. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bertie only posted an OBP of .500.

Nash Central moved to 8-12 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak. As for Bertie, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-16.

Nash Central will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Falcons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
