Basketball Recap: Brevard Christian Comes Up Short

Brevard Christian lost against Master's Academy back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Brevard Christian War Eagles lost to the Master's Academy Patriots at home by a 29-12 margin. While the War Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Patriots 9-4 in the first quarter.

Master's Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alison Viersma led the charge by putting up 13 points along with seven steals and six boards. That makes it five consecutive games in which Viersma has scored at least a third of Master's Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Phoenix Henderson, who posted nine points and six steals.

Brevard Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Master's Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season.

Brevard Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Melbourne at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st. As for Master's Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 34-20 loss against Jupiter Christian on the 10th.
