Volleyball Recap: Rayelle Watkins and Lyla Wiggs Secure Win for Strasburg-Franklin

There's no place like home for Strasburg-Franklin, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Malvern Hornets on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on September 2nd.

Strasburg-Franklin was especially dominant in the second set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-15, 25-17.

Leading Strasburg-Franklin to victory were Lyla Wiggs and Rayelle Watkins. Wiggs had 11 digs and three aces, while Watkins had 15 assists and four digs. Wiggs is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 16 or more in each of the last 43 games she's played dating back to last season.

The win snapped Strasburg-Franklin's losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 11-5 record. As for Malvern, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.

Strasburg-Franklin has already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Caldwell on the 27th. As for Malvern, they will challenge Leetonia at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
