Basketball Recap: Marion County Comes Up Short

While it was all tied up 26-26 at halftime, Marion County was not quite Macon County's equal in the second half on Saturday. They fell 59-51 to the Macon County Bulldogs. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost seven in a row.

It was another big night for Joshua Fulks, who went 7 of 12 en route to 16 points along with seven boards and three steals for Macon County. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Solomon, who posted six points along with ten boards and five blocks.

Marion County's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Macon County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Marion County Eagles challenge the Furlow Charter School Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Marion County is facing Furlow Charter School at the right time seeing as Furlow Charter School is stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Macon County, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-45 victory against Crawford County on the 13th.
