            Softball Recap: Woodlawn Cardinals vs. Breese Central Cougars        
        
		
        
        
            Woodlawn managed to slip by Breese Central the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Cardinals came up short against  the Cougars on Saturday, falling  20-10. The Cardinals just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.
  MaKayla Owens led a balanced group of hitters,  going 1-for-3 with one  home run and four  RBI. That  home run marked the first that  she  launched this season.  Zaylee Kirkpatrick was another key player,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.
Woodlawn's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Breese Central, their win  ended  a  nine-game drought on the road  dating back to last season and  puts them at 3-10.
 Woodlawn wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  contest,  a  15-5  loss against Farina South Central on the 12th. As for Breese Central, they will venture away from home to  square off against Christ Our Rock Lutheran  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. The Silver Stallions will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  runs each  match than the last.
