Volleyball Recap: Klein Falls Despite Big Games from Addison Swearingen and Julia Schatz

After flying high against Klein Forest on Tuesday, Klein came back down to earth. The Bearkats fell just short of the Klein Collins Tigers by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Bearkats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Klein took Klein Collins into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-17, 20-25, 25-15, 15-10.

Despite the loss, Klein had strong showings from Julia Schatz, who had 20 assists and nine digs, and Addison Swearingen, who had ten digs and two aces. Schatz is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Klein's record now sits at 16-16. As for Klein Collins, they now have a winning record of 18-17.

Looking ahead, Klein will welcome Tomball at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Bearkats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Klein Collins, they will challenge Klein Oak at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
