Baseball Recap: Sherrard Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If Sherrard was riding high fresh off their 8-0 takedown of Mercer County on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hall Red Devils on Saturday. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Sherrard got a good showing from Sam Steckel, who pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave Steckel a new career-low.

On the hitting side, Sherrard saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Brown, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Sherrard's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5. As for Hall, their record now sits at 11-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sherrard will welcome Orion at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Hall, they will be playing at home against Erie at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
