Morenci and Heritage Academy squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Morenci had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Heroes by a score of 5-4. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Cameryn Woodall spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jaliyah Hernandez was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Morenci's defeat dropped their record down to 17-12. As for Heritage Academy, they pushed their record up to 22-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Morenci does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Heritage Academy, they will square off against Horizon Honors at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something the Heroes surely won't give up without a fight.
