The Golden View Classical Academy Sentinels came into Wednesday's match having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They enjoyed a cozy 40-21 win over Clear Creek on Wednesday.

Golden View Classical Academy found their leader in underclassman Zoe Jones, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Annie Kuck, who scored nine points along with three steals.

Despite the loss, Clear Creek saw an underclassman step up: Aerah Fulton scored seven points along with 16 rebounds. Fulton is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Eliott Dunbar, who scored five points.

Golden View Classical Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Clear Creek, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Golden View Classical Academy will head out on the road to face off against Thomas MacLaren School at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Thomas MacLaren School is coming into the matchup with four straight losses at home, meaning Golden View Classical Academy will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Clear Creek, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Union Colony Prep at 5:30 p.m. on February 8th. Clear Creek comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
