Baseball Recap: Nicholas County Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Nicholas County waltzed into their contest on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Ludlow Panthers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-2 last Friday.

Ludlow's batters probably weren't too happy with Jayden Robinson, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 13 Ks (he gave up two walks). Robinson also allowed no hits, which is notable because Nicholas County is undefeated when he allows at most one hit, but 10-11 otherwise.

At the plate, Nicholas County's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Parker Smith, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Nicholas County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive games.

Nicholas County's victory bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Ludlow, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-9.

Coincidentally, Nicholas County and Ludlow will both be playing Bourbon County the next time they take the field. The Bluejackets will host the Colonels at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Panthers will play them later in the day, at 1:30 p.m.
