Soccer Recap: Timberlake Christian Comes Up Short

Timberlake Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They lost 4-1 to the Westover Christian Academy Bulldogs. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Timberlake Christian were already down 3-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Bennett Portnoy, who's now up to six this season.

Timberlake Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Westover Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-1-1 record this season.

Timberlake Christian didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Roanoke Valley Christian on the 22nd. As for Westover Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Carlisle at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Westover Christian Academy will be up against Carlisle's rather soft defense (which has allowed 6.33 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
