Omaha Central hasn't had much luck against Bellevue West recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Thunderbirds at 5:00 p.m. Omaha Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
Omaha Central's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over Buena Vista. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Bison recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Grant Hamill tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Luke Neujahr and Oscar Yuhas-Vining did most of the damage at the plate: Neujahr went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Yuhas-Vining went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four RBI gave Neujahr a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Joe Dougherty, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.
Omaha Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Bellevue West faced Creighton Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Thunderbirds walked away with a 5-2 win over the Junior Jays. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Thunderbirds.
Drew Grego made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aiden Ensor, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Jayden Kephart was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.
Omaha Central's record is now 14-15. As for Bellevue West, their record now sits at 19-9.
