Baseball Recap: Denver West Cowboys vs. Arrupe Jesuit Generals
Denver West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 24th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 22-11 to the Arrupe Jesuit Generals. One positive for the Cowboys, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Aidan Quinonez and Isaac Resendiz did some serious damage despite the final result: Quinonez scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Resendiz scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Quinonez a new career-high in hits. Alfredo Reyes also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.
Even though they lost, Denver West always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Denver West's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Arrupe Jesuit, with the victory, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-3.
Denver West wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 16-4 loss against Arvada on the 14th. As for Arrupe Jesuit, they will host DSST: Montview at 3:30 p.m. on March 21st.
