Baseball Recap: Cumby Comes Up Short

Cumby was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Lone Oak Buffaloes, falling 10-1.

Cumby saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Canyon Talley, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Jayden Evans also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Cumby's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Lone Oak, their victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Cumby will take on Quitman in a tournament on Friday. As for Lone Oak, they will be playing at home against Miller Grove at 1:40 p.m. on Saturday.
