Basketball Recap: Springstead Comes Up Short

Springstead has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a hard 48-33 fall against the Delaware Military Academy Seahawks on Monday.

Despite the defeat, Springstead saw an underclassman step up: freshman Ariana Willoughby posted 12 points. Willoughby is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Briana Coleman, who put up seven points and five rebounds.

Springstead's record now sits at 11-4. As for Delaware Military Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Springstead will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Hernando at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th. As for Delaware Military Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 44-32 victory against Kennett on the 3rd.
