Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Wauseon

Wauseon hadn't done well against Napoleon recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Wauseon Indians walked away with a 43-35 win over the Napoleon Wildcats. This was payback for the Indians, who suffered a 40-35 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Despite the loss, Napoleon saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hannah Miller posted nine points. Another player making a difference was Chloe Cicero, who went 5 for 11 on her way to 12 points.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Wauseon, bringing their record for this year to 8-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.8 points per game. As for Napoleon, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wauseon will welcome Liberty Center at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Napoleon, they will look to defend their home court on January 4, 2025 against Patrick Henry at 1:30 p.m.
