Recap: Jackson-Milton Bluejays vs. Medina Christian Academy Knights
On Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Jackson-Milton beat Medina Christian Academy 30-25.
Jackson-Milton found their leader in underclassman Amani Yasin, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Yasin hasn't dropped below two steals for 15 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Newhard, who scored a point along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Medina Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ashley Conwill, who scored seven points along with two blocks. Another player making a difference was Addison Wolf, who scored five points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
Jackson-Milton's victory bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Medina Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-10.
Jackson-Milton will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Lowellville at 6:15 p.m. As for Medina Christian Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mogadore at 7:00 p.m. on February 21st. Hopefully Mogadore focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Wednesday.
