Basketball Game Preview: West Lyon Wildcats vs. Central Lyon Lions

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the West Lyon Wildcats challenge the Central Lyon Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday... The timing is sure in West Lyon's favor as the squad sits on 14 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Central Lyon has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

Last Tuesday, West Lyon ended up a good deal behind MOC-Floyd Valley and lost 50-35. The match marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Central Lyon played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 71-43 loss at the hands of MOC-Floyd Valley. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while the Dutchmen are ranked 41st).

Central Lyon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for West Lyon, their loss dropped their record down to 11-3.

Everything came up roses for West Lyon against Central Lyon in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 71-37 win. Does West Lyon have another victory up their sleeve, or will Central Lyon turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
