Football Recap: Creekview Find Success

After low-scoring totals in their previous three game, Creekview brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They took down the Lassiter Trojans 48-30 on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Grizzlies, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Alex Penrod had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 121 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also threw for 89 yards and one TD. Those 121 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aidyn Grice, who rushed for 54 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Creekview was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 350 rushing yards. They rushed for 118 more rushing yards than Lassiter's also-impressive total of 232.

Creekview's defense stepped up as well, laying out Mitch Seaman. 3.5 times. Carter Cundy refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Another thorn in Lassiter's side was Jd Russell, who forced one fumble, made 12 total tackles, and defended one pass.

Lassiter's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Drew McGee, who rushed for 71 yards and a pair of TDs. Collins Price also helped out with an impressive 97 receiving yards.

Creekview's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Lassiter, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
