Soccer Game Preview: Ellicott vs. Banning Lewis Academy

Ellicott is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will be playing at home against the Banning Lewis Academy Stallions at 4:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Ellicott's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Mitchell 1-0. Ellicott wouldn't have won without Micheya Stewart, who scored the game-winner.

Something new happened last Thursday as Stewart saw her first action of the season, playing 40 minutes against Mitchell. Stewart made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal and two steals A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.

Meanwhile, Banning Lewis Academy fell victim to Manitou Springs and their airtight defense last Thursday. They came up short against the Mustangs, falling 10-0. The loss put an end to Banning Lewis Academy's undefeated start to the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Banning Lewis Academy fell to 2-1. As for Ellicott, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
