Basketball Recap: Flandreau Indian Takes a Loss

Flandreau Indian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 28th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Lower Brule Sioux 76-31. The Indians lost against the Sioux in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 76-8 score last time.

Flandreau Indian's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Lower Brule, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Flandreau Indian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Wakpala at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Wakpala is coming into the contest with three straight defeats on the road, meaning Flandreau Indian will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. As for Lower Brule, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll take on Crazy Horse at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
