Basketball Recap: Carthage Comes Up Short

Carthage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 40-23 to the Kilgore Bulldogs. The contest marked Carthage's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Carthage's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Kilgore, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 3-11 record this season.

Carthage will square off against Cumberland Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Carthage is facing Cumberland Academy at the right time seeing as Cumberland Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Kilgore, they will challenge Pine Tree at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
