Baseball Recap: 12 Straight Home Victories for Grandview Heights

Grandview Heights barely beat Centennial the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bobcats blew past the Stars 12-1 on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Mitchell Hahn was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

In other batting news, Michael Greer was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Sam Bandy was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Grandview Heights always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Centennial only posted an OBP of .350.

Grandview Heights' win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Centennial, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
