Baseball Game Preview: Walden Grove Red Wolves vs. Tucson High Magnet School Badgers

The Walden Grove Red Wolves will face off against the Tucson High Magnet School Badgers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Walden Grove has given up an average of 6.6 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Walden Grove managed to slip by Sunnyside the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Red Wolves came up short against the Blue Devils on Thursday, falling 13-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Red Wolves have suffered since April 3rd.

Walden Grove saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vaughn Sexton, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Tucson High Magnet School had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Champions a 3-0 shutout. That's two games straight that the Badgers have won by exactly three runs.

Tucson High Magnet School pushed their record up to 15-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Walden Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-11.
