Haxtun has gone 8-2 against Akron recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Haxtun Fightin' Bulldogs will face off against the Akron Rams at 4:00 p.m. Akron took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Haxtun, who comes in off a win.

Haxtun will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Holyoke, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Haxtun walked away with a 66-59 win over Holyoke on Friday.

Meanwhile, Akron came up short against Sedgwick County on Friday and fell 59-46.

Haxtun will need focus on slowing down Anderson Filla, one of several Akron players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 13 points and eight rebounds. Jace Curtis also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Even though they lost, Akron smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Haxtun's victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-8. As for Akron, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.

Haxtun didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Akron in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 52-47 win. Does Haxtun have another victory up their sleeve, or will Akron turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
