Baseball Recap: Pinecrest Find Success

Pinecrest was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They won by a run and slipped past Wilmington Christian Academy 2-1.

Taylor Graves tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Pinecrest saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryson Partington, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

The win got Pinecrest back to even at 2-2. As for Wilmington Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Pinecrest will venture away from home to take on Laney at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Wilmington Christian Academy, they will welcome Harrells Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wilmington Christian Academy is facing Harrells Christian Academy at the right time seeing as Harrells Christian Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
