McKayla Epps commands the offense for Cougars win

Recap: Pinecrest Academy Cadence Cougars vs. Cristo Rey St. Viator Royals

The Pinecrest Academy Cadence Cougars had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 44.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Cristo Rey St. Viator as Pinecrest Academy Cadence made off with a 45-21 win. Pinecrest Academy Cadence pushed the score to 34-14 by the end of the third, a deficit Cristo Rey St. Viator had little chance of recovering from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pinecrest Academy Cadence to victory, but perhaps none more so than McKayla Epps, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Epps has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aspen Larson, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Despite the loss, Cristo Rey St. Viator still got an impressive performance from Regina Madrigal, who scored 17 points.

Pinecrest Academy Cadence pushed their record up to 8-18 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.7 points per game. As for Cristo Rey St. Viator, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

Pinecrest Academy Cadence will head out on the road to face off against Pahrump Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pinecrest Academy Cadence will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nevada Rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Pahrump Valley is ranked ninth). Cristo Rey St. Viator does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
