Basketball Game Preview: Avon Pirates vs. Centerville Tornadoes

The Avon Pirates will take on the Centerville Tornadoes in a holiday battle at at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Tuesday, Avon might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Corsica/Stickney an easy 58-32 victory. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Jaguars recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Meanwhile, Centerville didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Freeman Academy/Marion on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 41-35 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tornadoes.

Centerville pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Avon, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
