Basketball Recap: McLeod Comes Up Short

McLeod was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a hard 50-33 fall against the Hawkins Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-32 back in January.

Hawkins got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Derek Hollman out in front who went 6 of 13 on his way to 16 points. Another player making a difference was Brayden Givens, who posted six points and ten boards.

McLeod's loss dropped their record down to 13-23. As for Hawkins, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 19 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 29-2 record this season.

McLeod does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hawkins, they will take on Martins Mill at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Martins Mill comes in on 11 and Hawkins on 17.
