Volleyball Recap: Druid Hills Red Devils vs. Midtown Knights
Druid Hills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Midtown Knights.
While Druid Hills ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-18.
Laila Wharton paced Druid Hills' offense, picking up four kills. Wharton were helped by Kassidy Manning and Sophia Florence, who contributed eight assists each. Caroline Rogers controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Midtown was led to victory by Abby Taylor and Karin Tian. Taylor had nine digs and five assists, while Tian had 11 digs. Those five assists gave Taylor a new career-high.
Druid Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Midtown, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Looking ahead, Druid Hills will challenge Decatur at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Midtown, they have already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Northwest Classical Academy on the 23rd.
